Welcome to African Farm Shares. This is an innovative way to support the development of villages in Africa, simply by investing in the children who live there.
What is really new about this, is that you can invest in the children and have a share in the whole business, with a chance to increase the value of your investment at the end of the year!
So how does it work?
You invest £1 (€1.15 or $1.60) with Social Enterprise Africa CIC, a UK-registered Community Interest Company, and we will plant seeds for you on land owned by the families of children we are educating at our Chrysalis School and those who are part of the Butterfly Project, our Young Social Entrepreneur Training Programme, and we will support their development, by:
· Paying their school fees or teaching them at the New Chrysalis School, which your money will buy
· Providing free Young Social Entrepreneur Training at our Chrysalis Centre
· Supporting them in devising and operating their own social project in Uganda
At the same time, we help the villages, by:
· Developing logistics into and out of the village
· Introducing new technologies, designed for villages (for example from IDE)
· Give advice on how to improve crop yield or test new farming initiatives
· Pay their labourers to farm our crops
